An award winning writer, editor, and marketer, Nancy M. Hood is a fifth generation Texan, and 30 year veteran of marketing and communications in the life sciences. She has a particular passion for animal health and agriculture. But as manager of a portfolio of products for Sanofi (including the blockbuster drug Plavix), Bristol Myers Squibb, Ethicon Endo Surgery, and many others, Nancy is well versed in patient advocacy, medical education, patient recruitment and brand management. She has worked for clients in cardiology, neurology, urology, orthopedics, and oncology. Within livestock and crop production, she served as VP of marketing for Marrone Bio Innovations, as director of global public affairs and marketing for ArborGen, and with Grey Advertising Gibbs & Soell, and other agencies, managed accounts for Pfizer Animal Health, Merial, Elanco Animal Health, and Pfizer Animal Health, as well as Valent U.S.A., Rhône-Poulenc Ag and others. Her current passion is helping to develop markets for new products, gaining insights into what really makes a market work. She was the editor of Great American Agriculture, The Classic Horseman, and has written hundreds of articles.Nancy is an avid reader and is currently working on a book about women on the High Plains from 1840-1913.
