Hi my name is Nichole, and I am a freelance graphic designer based in the Los Angeles area. If you need help with a project let's connect- I would love to help you!
I grew up in the Bay Area and attended school at California State University, Northridge. My career in art started at a young age, when my grandmother had a significant influence in my life. My grandmother, a painter and illustrator, would make sure to give my sister and me art lessons whenever we visited.
Following in her footsteps, I wanted to go to school for interior design. In 2006, I moved down to Southern California to attend CSU Northridge for interior design. However, before I could take any interior design classes, I was required to take a typography class. After a few weeks, I fell in love with type I decided that this is what I wanted to do. So I changed my major to graphic design.
What I enjoy about design is how the individual elements such as type, color, texture, and form all combine to form unique compositions and can produce a wide array of responses from many people. My idea about design is the simpler, the better. In order to make a clean, detailed, and appealing product, I prefer to use negative space and bright, pastel colors.
When I am not designing you can find me: baking, reading a book, visiting Disneyland, watching I Love Lucy, or rocking out at a concert.
