Professional freelance writer and editor, finger-tips at the ready.
While in Washington State, I completed an Associate's Degree at Whatcom Community College, where I graduated with honors, in Phi Theta Kappa, a writing tutor, a mentor, and with two awards: the 2014 Award of Excellency in the English Discipline, and the 2015 President's Award.
While working as a tutor, I was selected to give a presentation at the 2015 Conference of peer Tutors in Writing on the subject of extreme multimodality. I also worked both online and in person with students from a variety of backgrounds, including those from non-English speaking countries trying to learn English. This led me to aiding in the development of a mentorship program, which assisted students who struggled to adapt to college.
One of my essays was selected to be published in the college's online magazine, the Noisy Water Review.
Finally, while at Whatcom Community College, I was a part of an ad hoc committee whose focus was to ensure funding for the new Learning Center building. This involved meeting and speaking with senators and local representatives about the state's upcoming fiscal year and budget.
Currently I write a column and a fictional horror series for Carpe Nocturne Magazine, am an editor for the environmental section of The Bubble, published with Wonderbox Publishing, TL;DR Press, and was shortlisted for the 2018 BY Wells Story Story Competition (as well as included in their anthology).
After studying English Literature and Philosophy at Durham University in England, I am now a writing coach and freelance writer.
