Experienced freelance instructional designer specializing in curriculum development, elearning, adaptive learning, and microlearning for training, education, and professional development
I enable my clients to achieve organizational goals by providing performance-focused, audience-conscious learning solutions. I perform needs analysis, design curriculum, storyboard, manage content production, and/or develop engaging content.
Recent clients include an airline (maintenance, flight operations, stations), a digital marketing small business, Netflix, and two edTech start-ups.
Prior to freelancing, I managed a team of instructional designers and subject matter experts after putting in my time as an instructional design on the ground level. The courses produced under my purview serve anywhere from 20 - 3000+ students per deployment and have won numerous awards including two from Brandon Hall and one from Chief Learning Officer Magazine. I also taught college writing as a contingent faculty member for 5 years and tutored in nationally-recognized college writing centers for 6 years.
Truthfully, my whole professional life, from the age of 14 on, has been centered around teaching and developing learning experiences. I'm truly passionate about designing instruction and helping people better themselves.
I am a focused, hard worker that always meets my deadlines. I love to learn new things and learn quickly. I am flexible and work well independently or with a team.
I'm also a Ph.D. student in English, set to graduate in May of 2018 (recently defended). My dissertation is a qualitative study focused on questions of student engagement and transfer of learning, particularly in the writing across the curriculum (WAC) space.
