Designing is a way of simplifying lifestyle

My name is Nipun Verma.I would like to begin from the most impactful day of my life, it was the day, when I
almost faced death in a road accident. That very day has given me my strength, made me ambitious like never
before and gave me such desperate obsessive focus to be the best.
My design journey has begun from an end. After my recovery I had put in all of my resources into learning
and acquiring new skills with the aim of everyday becoming the better version of myself and hence, I started
exploring more in design.I believe that to build a better society first one must understand the primitive crafts of
the society, with this belief I joined the Hard Material Application course at Indian Institute of Crafts and Design,
with the focus on craft combined with product design. This gave me an exposure of crafts with respect to their
materials which gave me a broader understanding of how these, combined, contribute to evolve the society.
I also got a chance to work with artisans from various communities spread throughout India. From them, I have
gained hands on experience over materials like stone, wood, metal, bamboo etc. I also went to Mumbai for a
one month internship where I worked as a product designer and whenever I got time I tried to invest that into
exploring the place and its roots.
