Taking your brand to the next level.
I jumped! After 22 years in corporate America, I started my own brand strategy and consulting firm. I focus on helping organizations and people take their brand to the next level by maximizing their marketing teams and their efforts.
Most recently, I was the Chief Marketing Officer of Visit Dallas, the marketing arm of the City of Dallas. In 2012, I launched the BIG Campaign to rebrand Dallas, which includes a traditional media buy, as well as a social/public engagement campaign. The campaign has won several awards including the DFW American Marketing Association (DFW AMA) Marketer of the Year in Branding and a regional Addy for Integrated Campaigns. In 2013, I was honored by Skift.com as one of the 50 top travel marketers in the world.
Prior to joining the Bureau, I served as interim vice-president of Marketing/Public Relations for Children’s Medical Center Dallas. While at Children’s, I co-produced a 13-part television documentary that aired on the local ABC affiliate. My experience includes 20+ years in marketing communications.
I received my B.S. in math from Spelman College. In 2006, I co-founded Dress for Success Dallas, a non-profit organization for disadvantaged women. In 2010, I published a children’s book, I Miss You When I Sleep. In 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and have started sharing what that experience has taught me through my blog: Confessions of a Single Mom with Cancer.
With a degree in math, a Tedx talk, a published children's book, founding of a not-for-profit and over 20 years of management experience in communications, public relations, marketing, and advertising, I have the ability to excel in any business environment and deliver above and beyond results for any professional challenge.
