Professional Brazilian Translator
My name is Nora Lamm and I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. I grew up surrounded by the varied architectural styles and geographies of the Southwest U.S. After graduating from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Latin American Studies and Geography, I moved to Washington, D.C. to work in the affordable housing industry.
I have been a Portuguese Translator and Content Creator for 'The Grid' (The Grid is a truly exceptional network providing a great source of information for the environmental design field) for 6 months and it has been a wonderful and enriching experience. I loved the opportunity to research articles from Brazil at a time when so much innovation, change, and disruption are occurring in that part of the world. Translating articles from Brazil, especially during the World Cup, was a fascinating way to learn about local events and perspectives regarding architecture, urban planning, and engineering.
All of the articles that I translated enabled me to learn more about environmental design in the Brazilian context and I hope that readers gained insight into the country as well. I also very much enjoyed being part of the Grid community and reading articles from the bloggers around the world that offer important local stories that are often not covered in other media sources.
