I'm usually for the Oxford comma, but I also know when to leave it out.
Born in Russia, I spent my childhood traveling back and forth between Russia, the U.S., and Ukraine before settling down in the U.S. I studied literature in college and creative writing in graduate school, and taught writing, rhetoric, and research to college students throughout graduate school and after, as a lecturer. Soul-searching eventually took me away from the academy, however, and I spent the past couple of years working as a video game writer, a role that required me to implement the lead designer's ideas as well as come up with my own.
Creative writing workshops, teaching, and being part of a writing team at video game studio have given me ample experience in working with people to refine ideas and improve texts. When working on a project, I am happy to communicate with the client as much as necessary to make sure we are on the same page.
