DEMS
I would like to share a story of our company. I was born in Nigeria into a family of four and the only child in my family that went to college. I was not born into a silver spoon family and I had to climb my way to the top. Since my childhood, I have been living an independent life with little parental guidance.
In 2005, I desired to become an entrepreneur after passing my professional engineering license examination at Texas USA and that led me to found DEMS. Few months after founding DEMS, Chevron hired me and I stopped pursuing DEMS. While working in Chevron, I was exposed to several large and complex multi-billion dollars’ projects worldwide. My last project in Chevron was a Nigerian project and this project exposed me to current project execution challenges in Nigeria. The oil and gas downturn in 2016 resulted to my position and many other positions eliminated in Chevron. This then provided me the opportunity to continue to pursue DEMS.
In less than 8 months of leaving Chevron, we opened 2 offices – one in Houston and international location, Lagos, Nigeria. 5 renowned global engineering companies have accepted to partner with DEMS to help rebrand our company.
My single focus goal is to help DEMS to create the first sustainable high value engineering center in Africa to serve the energy and infrastructure industries globally. This is because energy and infrastructure companies face project local content execution challenges in Africa which translate to high cost and longer schedule. I strongly believe that achieving this goal will help reduce the cost of project execution in Africa and also help grow talent, capability and capacity in engineering.
And now, I invite you to explore our website to discover more about who we are, what we do, what we believe, and what we plan to accomplish (THE DEMS WAY).
Thank you.
