Since September 2019, Omar Maxwell has been a Consultant specializing in the Commercial Insurance space. Topics of interest include (but are not limited to): M&A Activity, Change in Carrier operations, Reinsurance, Products including Cyber, Commercial Package, Property, Ocean Marine, Auto, Inland Marine, Boiler and Machinery, WC, International, Umbrella and Pet Insurance.

Omar's approach to consulting projects has always involved the shoring up of his pre-existing knowledge and current understanding of the projects he advises on with detailed research to guarantee he is fully informed about the topic at hand.

In addition to his consulting role, Mr. Maxwell served as an Underwriter for several clients while with the Hartford in the fall of 2023.

Previously, Omar was a Client Service Manager for Arthur J Gallagher. AJG is one of the largest insurance brokers in the world and continues to grow at a rapid rate. In his role at Arthur J Gallagher, Omar consulted dozens of clients on the current state of the insurance marketplace and advised customers on insurance coverages needed.
To round out his experience in the insurance space, Omar accepted an opportunity as a Personal Lines Underwriter at Team Focus Insurance in April of 2021. Located in Sunrise, Florida, Team Focus acts as a Contractor for Citizens Insurance, a Florida state owned insurance carrier.

Before his role at Team Focus, Mr. Maxwell held various positions with increasing responsibility while working at Chubb for 13 years. His last position was that of Assistant Vice President reporting into a Vice President for Commercial Insurance. Omar worked in this role for about 3 years. In this position he was responsible for a team of Underwriters and his own book of business. Knowledge of Chubb's products and their competitors were vital to this role.

Prior to his role as an AVP in Commercial Insurance, Omar was a Team Leader for Property, Marine and Machinery. In this role he handled various Property and Marine products and managed staff. He occupied this position for 3 years (May 2014 - December 2016).

Before becoming a Team Leader, Omar was a Senior Property, Marine and Machinery Underwriter. In this position, he worked in Chubb's largest branch, their New York City operation. He was exposed to key relationships with large players including Marsh, Willis and Aon. He was also charged with learning about key competitors and partners in the P&C insurance space, including The Hartford, Travelers, CNA, Zurich, Hanover, ArchRe, AspenRe and PartnerRe.
In 2009, Omar became a Commercial Property and Package Underwriter. He was in this role for about 3 years until he moved to Chubb's New York branch.

Omar began his career as an Underwriting Trainee in 2006. He held this role for 7 months (June 2006 - January 2007) in Chubb's Long Island Branch.
