Complete Electronic Hardware Design Service - from Concept to Product.
I am a highly experienced Electronic Design Engineer with over 30 years industrial experience designing hardware in a variety of companies, including Lucent, and Intel. See www.linkedin.com/in/richardrooney for more details.
I have an M.Eng in Electronic Systems from Dublin City University.
I have worked in many areas:
1. CPUs/MCUs: NXP/Freescale iMX, TI OMAP, Marvell Armada, ST ARM, PIC, etc.
2. Bluetooth: TI and Nordic.
3. WiFi: Espressif.
4. GPS/GSM: Quectel, SIMCOM, uBlox, Telit, etc.
5. PCI,PCI-Express.
6. Sensors: CO2, O2, PM, HCHO, VOC, O3, etc.
I am an expert in PCB design, using CADENCE OrCAD/Concept/Allegro or Altium Designer tool-sets.
(Impedance control, trace length matching, etc.)
I emphasize that I will supply you with _all_ your design data:
CAD(Schematics, PCB Layout), Gerbers, Assembly Documentation, BOM, etc.
I can get prototypes manufactured locally or in the USA/China if you require.
I am not inexpensive, but I have a proven track record and I will be around when you need further PCBs designed or boards de-bugged etc.,
A typical milestone-based design flow:
Milestones:
1. Specification agreed.
2. Schematics finished and reviewed.
3. Layout completed and reviewed.
4. Manufacturing data package completed and reviewed. (Gerber BOM, X-Y data, STEP, etc.)
5. Firmware completed and reviewed.
6. Prototype tested with Firmware and approved.
7. All Design Data sources delivered to client.
If I can receive detailed requirements from you I can calculate a fixed price quote if you prefer.
This can then be broken down against milestone deliveries. This would give you much greater peace-of-mind.
Regards,
Richard
Work Terms
For hourly based contracts I normally charge $50/hr. Obviously many clients prefer the security of a fixed-price contract.
I can offer fixed-price contracts if I receive enough information up-front to calculate a reasonably accurate cost.
