Finance & Accounting professional with 15+ years of technical/GAAP accounting experience in manufacturing & service companies

I am a disciplined and experienced finance professional with a proven record of providing creative, innovative, and forward-thinking strategies with 10+ years' work experience leading the financial functions of manufacturing companies in multiple industries. My main responsibilities include managing all aspects of the accounting cycle including payroll, AP, AR, bank and credit cards reconciliations, variance analysis, inventory management, COGS accounting, preparation of revenue schedule, month-end and year-end closing, tax planning and compliance, forecasting and budgeting, scenario analysis, performing accounting research and providing technical guidance as needed and the preparation of the financial reports for management, external auditors and government reporting. I oversee tax filings including sales tax, federal and multi-state sales tax, and various other filings employer taxes. I maintain the integrity and verify the accuracy of journal entries, general ledger and accounting classifications assigned to various records. I develop, implement and maintain the company’s accounting policies, procedures and practices and maintain adequate internal controls to monitor compliance with those standards through internal, external and regulatory audits. I have experience in performing contract reviews for revenue related contracts and applying related accounting guidance to determine appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition under ASC606. I have experience in using US GAAP principles most relevant to software/e-commerce/healthcare/construction/security guard patrol services/manufacturing companies; especially technical topics such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, inventory valuation, stock-based compensation expense, R&D capitalization, etc. I have experience with early stage and high growth companies with a proven track record of designing and implementing processes and systems where none may have previously existed.

Work Terms

Hours of operations: 8am - 5pm EST. Comprehensive Bookkeeping: I provide a full suite of bookkeeping services including data entry, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, sales and use tax calculations, month-end closing, preparing GAAP compliant financial statements and supporting schedules including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, CF Statement, Inventory table, and footnotes, COGS accounting, preparation of revenue schedule, financial forecasting and budgeting, financial modelling, developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, establishing internal controls and systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial information. I have the ability to be adaptable and manage competing responsibilities and deadlines in a timely manner.
