Samuel Ouma is a communication and media graduate from Laikipia University in Kenya with accumulative experience of six years in the corporate world. Currently, he is working with Pan African Visions as news correspondent. Between 2021 and 2022, he worked at the Office of the Government Spokesperson as a public communication officer where he was responsible for creating engaging contents for social media platforms, article writing and editing, research, compiling of reports, writing of press releases and briefings. In addition, he headed social media team.
He also worked at Kata Kata Cartoons between 2019 and 2021 as a columnist. During his tenure at Kata Kata Cartoons, he evaluated and follow up on news leads and news tips to develop story ideas, conducted research, gathered information from multiple sources and presented results and wrote and edited articles.
Between 2016 to 2017, he worked as a bank clerk at Cooperative Bank of Kenya where he successfully performed his duties in a professional manner.
Moreover, Samuel worked at Radio Injili as an attachee where he hosted children show every weekend, presented and reported.
Apart from the corporate world, Samuel has a great enthusiasm for environment which pushed him to start a non-governmental organization, Plastic Busters Kenya, with the aim of advocating for plastic free environment. The organization creates awareness to the general public on the dangers imposed by careless disposal of plastic waste materials, educate the masses on the importance of staying away from single-use plastics. Further, it also organizes clean-up activities that takes place in the streets with the help of the public and other interested parties. The organization has recorded immense success and plans to expand its operations in the future.
