Environmental professional and academic writer
I am currently working to mitigate climate change impacts from corporate operations within a municipal government. I am familiar with assembling greenhouse gas emissions inventories for corporate entities, identifying under-performing and energy-inefficient systems, and developing strategies for reducing energy consumption and GHG outputs. I have conducted feasibility studies to address fleet idling issues, waste diversion issues, and introducing electric vehicles into regular operations. I am familiar with carbon offset project management, and Canadian environmental regulations.
My academic experiences lie in ecological field research, and involved analysing non-normally distributed experimental data to explore relationships in novel ecological settings. I have published several academic articles, and have experience writing successful grant applications for government and non-government granting agencies. I have several years' experience as a university instructor and an outdoor educator and have addressed conferences and sat on panels to present academic research, discuss challenges facing municipalities in dealing with climate change, water quality concerns, and others.
