I attended the University of St. Thomas where I majored in Mechanical Engineering and minored in Peace Engineering. At the University of St. Thomas, I had the opportunity to go back home (Rwanda) to participate in a summer program organized by Engineering World Health. During this summer program, I learned, repaired, and troubleshot different kinds of hospital equipment in five different hospitals around the country. This experience along with my peace engineering studies fueled my passion to work with developing communities to come up with and design solutions to improve their healthcare. After college, I decided to first pursue my passion to see young men and women know that they are loved, known, and seen through my work as a missionary. I served the University of Minnesota with a Christian Organization called Saint Paul’s Outreach. After two years of experiencing a huge transformation in my own life, and the immense joy that comes from seeing young people become who they were meant to be. I knew it was time to go back to Rwanda to pursue my other passion of making an impact on the healthcare system in developing countries. I currently work as a consultant for a majority Rwanda owned biotechnology company called: “Akagera Medicines” that is designing novel vaccines and therapeutics for infectious diseases that mainly affect LMICs. Alongside my work in the healthcare field, I would love to continue spreading joy to others through motivational talks and speeches, and emcee’ing events that make a positive impact on the community.
