I'm a self-taught full-stack developer for backend I tend to go with laravel with Vue and Bootstrap on the frontend. I have also used ionic framework for cross-platform mobile apps.
I've been installing scripts and playing with js/html/css/php since around 2000. I had my own geocities site back in the day with crappy gifs, marquee text, and dancing babies.
In 2007 I started building out wordpress sites for people, no custom coding really other than editing templates and things.
In 2010-2011 I worked on some custom plugins for wordpress and sugarCRM for an insurance firm I worked with, I also did all of their SEO and PPC marketing for two years. Around 2011 I started getting interested in development a bit more, and taught myself Ruby on Rails as it was popular at the time.
In 2013 I had a client who wanted an app built in Ruby but deployed to hostgator shared, at the time this wasn't feasible so after spending a few weeks writing the app in Rails, I ported it to laravel since php is everywhere. I found laravel to be very similar to rails and super easy to develop in, and I've been using it as my first choice framework ever since. Over the past year I've been using Vue a lot on the frontend, before that I used angular or jquery in applications mostly.
