Picures are worth a thousand words. My writing has 1000+.
Rachel Griffin, a Photographer and Creative Writer born and raised in Cleveland, OH, has been writing poems since she was in her early teens. She began by writing about the struggles and problems she faced growing up. She would address her thoughts, how she felt and, at one point, her contemplation of suicide. In a way, poetry was a way for her to release not only those negative thoughts and situations, but also talk about all of the positive things she’s been able to accomplish and experience. The more she wrote, the better she had gotten and the more her love for writing grew. All of that was born from the decision to pick up a pen. Little did she know that she soon would be wielding a camera as well.
Not long before she graduated high school in 2012, she found an interest in photography. Soon, that would become her passion and apart of her dream as well. Her school decided to come up with a photography class that seniors had the option to take. Out of curiosity and interest, Rachel took up the class and did surprisingly well. It was her first time holding a SLR camera let alone taking photographs, so she made a few mistakes. She didn’t see them as mistakes. She saw them as learning moments and improved from there. With improving skills came with future business opportunities.
