About

Bringing your writing to its peak.

I edit genre fiction, from critiques to developmental to copyediting, helping improve your story. I also create story bibles—documents that track details in a story's world: character information (ex: name, relationship to other characters, hair color, habits), spatial details (ex: it took two days to walk from Point A to Point B), and timeline overviews. I love being part of an author's team; I consider myself a kind of teammate, mentor, and coach rolled into one. My favorite genres to work in are romance, mystery, and fantasy. When I am working on your book, my job is to advocate for you, your readers, and your story. That means I try to maintain your voice while making your story the best it can be and the story that your readers expect.

I interned at an ebook-first publisher from 2015-2017 and became a freelance editor in 2017. I am active in my local editing community, and I continue my professional growth through workshops and classes (both online and in person). I am a member of The Editorial Freelancers Association, ACES (formerly the American Copy Editors Society), and the National Association of Independent Writers & Editors.

I work in US English and use Chicago Manual of Style. My copyedits include a style sheet. I work in Word using Track Changes.

I live in North Texas and enjoy spoiling my dog and knitting while listening to audiobooks and podcasts.

Work Terms

My hours are typically Monday through Friday. I require a deposit when booking larger projects with a payment schedule set up at the time of agreement. Smaller projects require payment in advance. Most communications is done through email, but from time to time it is necessary to discuss project over the phone (or other technology).
