About

Teaching is the highest form of learning! A student of life and a fire and passion for creativity. I offer a powerful listening and a clearing for others to manifest their unique gifts.

I was one of those people that believed I had to be at least 70 years old before I could write or teach. It was simply a matter of not having permission. It didn't make sense to me that a young man of 30 has anything original to say that hasn't already been said. Then I read Flannery O'Connor's quote:

"Anybody who has survived [their] childhood has enough information about life to last [them] the rest of [their] days." - [Note: I changed his, him and his]

Thankfully, I haven't completely left my childhood. I suppose it was when my brother forced me to write with him September 2006 that changed it for me. It was the same year my boy Taylor was born and there is nothing better for inspiration than becoming a parent. There are many acts of creativity and becoming a parent is one of the most difficult and noble.

My daughter Indiana was born in August of 2010 - and for those parents who think having one child is the same as having two; well, let's just say, it is an order of magnitude! Double the set of legos and twice spirited willpower! As with the birth of my son Taylor, inspiration flowed in sleepless nights and cantankerous family schedules. I look at it like the Muses rewarded my lack of sleep and patience with word counts.

My beautiful wife Liz has been a beacon in which I have strived to be the best that I can. A shining light of inspiration and fortitude, Liz is an unwavering fan and advocate and I couldn't have done it without her.

I have a deep loyalty to others that write and create. For several years I have volunteered with the PNWA in Seattle WA. I love getting to know the process other's use to create. When I began teaching in 2015 at Bellevue College - a light illuminated for me. Yes, it is risky and at times difficult - and then I realize the anxiety comes from my desire to make a difference and to do the best job possible.

We live in Georgetown Seattle WA and love stay-cations, the beach, and dance parties.
