Hiring someone to do design work is often very difficult, since you often may not even know what you want. You are hiring someone to give you ideas. I am very happy with having worked with Ms. Alcantara. She was always eager to listen and understand what I was looking for. She allowed me to be in the project as it evolved. She is very creative and is proficient at her craft. I would hire Ms. Alcantara again.

Melanie is a joy to work with. She has a wonderful grasp of what I have wanted for "Cassidy's Rescue". Her illustrations brought the story to life for me.She is very willing to discuss any issues that could affect a project and is very quick to let me know if there are going to be any issues with timelines (there were some medical issues she had to deal with, but I had enough flexibility to work with her - hence the "very good" designation on the Timeliness section. Life happens and I want to assure any future employers that she makes every attempt to ensure her illustrations are the best that she can create.) I am planning a sequel to "Cassidy's Rescue" and I intend to ask Melanie if she would illustrate that as well. I wholeheartedly recommend Melanie Alcantara. Healing, Love, Peace, Lyn Gilbert
