I am a freelance writer and editor with over 15 years of professional experience in the fields of journalism, public relations and marketing.

I fell in love with reading at the age of 11. The book was merely an English setwork called Island of the Blue Dolphins (Scott O’Dell), but how deeply engrossed I became with the story of Juana Maria, a Nicoleno Native American left alone for 18 years on San Nicolas Island in the 19th century. I was captivated by the power of the written word from that moment on and I continue to be captivated to this day.

I am one of those lucky people, managing to translate my passion for reading into a passion for writing and after studying journalism, I entered a career I have truly loved from the first day of being a cub reporter.

After many years of foraying into the fields of newspaper, magazine and a stint in television journalism, I traded up into a higher earning category as a corporate communications specialist, then manager.

But a passion never dies and I am back in the writer’s seat launching a full time freelance writing career from my home base of Durban, South Africa.
