I, Prof.Dr.S.Kathirvelu, graduated in Textile Technology to get my B.Tech degree with first class with distinction in the year 1985 through P.S.G. College of Technology, Coimbatore affiliated to University of Madras. I was the recipient of the Proficiency Award for securing the highest aggregate marks in the B.Tech degree exams. I joined M/S. Tamilnadu Industrial Investment Corporation as Officer (Technical) in March 1986 and served there till September 1996. By October 1996, I became a full-time student of the University of Ghent, Belgium for my M.E in Textile Technology degree which I got with great distinction in July 1998. During the period September 1999 to December 2003, I worked as a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Garment Technology, SSM Institute of Textile Technology. I served Bahirdar University, Ethiopia, Africa as a Faculty member for two years till July 2005. I successfully completed my Ph.D. under the Faculty of Technology, Anna University, Chennai in 2009 while I was serving as Asst. Professor, Kumarguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. I served as the Principal of an engineering college for 4 years (till 2013) and as Professor for the next 5 years in EiTEX, Ethiopia (4 years) and KCT (1 year), Coimbatore,
I am currently working as a Project Expert with Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. I have published 1 textbook at the national level (under print), 25 technical papers in various national and international journals, and 11 papers in refereed journals. I have also presented 3 papers in International Conferences and 6 in national conferences.

Work Terms
