Timely reading and analysis of assigned books upon publication
Reviews that are concise and clear; those written must evaluate the weaknesses, strengths and general significance of the book
Adhering to editorial guidelines while ensuring that quality standards in criticism are met
Collaborating with editorial and marketing departments to plan review schedules aimed at expanding outreach
Attending book launches, author interviews, literary events etc - participating in conversations about literature.
Be up to date on current trends in publishing and literature so that you can continually make your reviews relevant and excellent.

Qualifications:

A postgraduate degree from Karachi University, preferably in English Literature, Journalism or related field.
Proof of experience in writing book reviews through academic publications or online platforms/professional outlets especially if they have been peer-reviewed.
Strong analytical skills combined with exceptional critical thinking abilities capable of recognizing subtleties within any piece of literature.
Exceptional English written communication skill particularly for conveying sophisticated ideas briefly yet convincingly.
Enthusiasm for literature spanning various genres along with advocating diversity in voices as well as perspectives,
Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines under multiple projects simultaneously managed
