Translating complex concepts into clear communication.
I am a technical writing expert with over 20 years of experience in the field. I received my Bachelor's degree in English from Austin University, and after graduation, I began my career as a technical writer for a software development company. I quickly discovered my passion for writing about complex technical concepts and procedures in a way that was accessible to non-technical audiences.
Over the years, I have worked for various organizations, including healthcare providers and engineering firms. In each role, I have focused on creating user-friendly documentation, including user manuals, help guides, and training materials. My experience has given me a deep understanding of how to communicate complex information in a way that is easy to understand for a broad range of users.
In addition to my work as a technical writer, I have also been a part time professor of technical writing for the past ten years. I teach courses on technical writing, where I share my knowledge and expertise with students interested in pursuing a career in this field. I believe that technical writing is a critical skill that can help bridge the gap between technical experts and non-experts, and I am passionate about helping my students develop the skills they need to succeed in this challenging and rewarding field.
In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing fiction, as well as spending time with my family and pets. I believe that my experience as a technical writer and professor has given me a unique perspective on the importance of clear communication and documentation, both in the workplace and in our personal lives.
