We've all been there — you're in the middle of reading an especially moving chapter in the new book from your favorite author, only to have the best scene ruined by a missing "the" or an out-of-place "your." If you're like me, that one little word can ruin the entire scene. That's where I come in!
Hi, my name is Emma. I have been an avid reader all my life, and this has helped me to develop an eye for catching errors. So much so, that at my last place of employment my coworkers assigned me the nickname "Eagle Eye Emma." While it may not be the nickname I would have chosen for myself, I wear it with pride!
I believe a love for reading should be the foundation of any great proofreader or editor. Having a deep respect for the power of words motivates me to help my clients achieve and maintain a high standard of writing. As your proofreader, my goal will always be to ensure clarity and consistency while preserving your voice as an author.
Of course, a love for reading is no substitute for knowing the difference between "your" and "you're"! So I value the course I took at the Proofreading Academy, which cemented in my mind the grammar rules of our beautiful and, at times, crazy language.
