MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST:
-Responsible for performing direct patient care which are based on a wellness model using the principles of health promotion, health monitoring, and health maintenance and disease prevention.
-Meeting with patients to discuss their health concerns, complete family and medical history and update or create medical charts and information.
-Assisting the treating physician with completing the examination, treatment or other procedures.
-Working as part of the patient’s treatment to ensure high quality medical services and support.
-Comforting and supporting patients and the families during medical procedures.
-Evaluate, plan, prevent disease, promote good health, and help not only patients but also their families deal with illness and injury. This includes home care needs, teaching patients how to administer their own medication, exercise and diet programs and physical therapy.
-Records their patient’s symptoms, keeping the patients medical records up to date, operate medical equipment, and often help with diagnostic tests, administer medications and treatment and do follow-up visits when necessary.
Work Terms
I prefer working at home. I really like the flexibility in hours that a stay-at-home position offers. I tend to do my best work very early in the morning. Being able to set my own hours allows me to work when I am most alert. Ultimately, I am more productive when working from home than commuting to an office and wasting time stuck in traffic. I love the quiet atmosphere of working from home. Without the constant distractions of an office, I am able to stay focused on my work and complete tasks quickly. I achieve a much better work-life balance when I work from home. I have the time with my family and it allows me to be much more productive in the household chores. I am very efficient when I work in my home office because everything is set up exactly how I need it to be. My printer and scanner are set up right next to my desktop and I don't waste time heading off to the Xerox room.
