It all started 30 years ago..longer even. In 1990, we used to spend the summers and long weekends outside of the city. I grew up having to juggle a multicultural family unit. These customs with they, and those customs with them. It was all vary confusing, building two different kinds of relationships at the same time with, conceptually, the same family.
These were some of my favourite roots. Cruising through VHS tapes, playing NES, and exploring the 45”’s..when I wasn’t running around outside barefoot. Typical 80’s life, ya? For many who were so lucky to have someone close who was an engineer in this time. Before google, I had the answer engine, when the responses weren’t more like a response from fortune, there was always a lot of tidbits to learn. Controlling the cartoon made sense to me from a very early age.
Those did me well tho too, having to survive through siblings’ barrage’s would force me through a gamut that I wouldn’t wish on anyone, or give up. Resilience, humility, and hard work were afforded to me there.
I grew up like a fly in the wall, watching a tech entrepreneur rise and fall and rise again only to fall once more. I could tell it wasn’t going to be easy, but as far as I knew at the time, it was the norm. I took my new found interest, skills, and hardware toward conceivably the only direction afforded to me. It started with design tools like Photoshop, exporting to web, dissecting the pages and building out my own styles. I was quickly making websites for local musicians/groups/djs, and starting a dj’ing business hosting events with the local school boards.
After exiting my first startup 15 years ago, we launched Raddstudio.com to continue to grow and build a presence, and have a home base to host ourselves from. We have some old school web roots, and we love that we have been able to grow and evolve with the times, and techs, as they have.
