A copywriter from India
I’m a copywriter based in India. I’m a post- graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication. I’ve worked as an intern at The Hindu, one of the best- known English language news papers in India. Since my childhood, writing has been my passion. I sincerely believe that by reading classic works, like those written by Marcel Proust, Franz Kafka, Albert Camus, Henry James, and Joseph Conrad you can develop a strong and vibrant inner world, which could help you in perceiving things in a different way. My biggest dream is to publish my own novel some day.
My stint with advertising began in 2010, when I started my Post graduation in Mass Communication. I read the works of some of the greatest and advertising pioneers of all time, like Howard Gossage, David Ogilvy, Rosser Reeves, Claude Hopkins, John Caples etc. and I fell in love with the profession. Copywriting jobs, when you are having the adequate knowledge and clear grasp on the subject, are very much enjoyable.
Copywriting has gained a lot of prominence these days. The success of a good product obviously depends on the quality of the copy. Copywriting jobs are aplenty these days, but to find the one with the right skill sets has become more difficult.
Here I’d like to share my thoughts on advertising in general. This is an art and a strong foundation must be built on reading good books on the subject. By reading some of the best books on advertising I realized that I’ve to go a long way and this is a learning process.
