Software Developer
I wrote my first program in 1976 when my father purchased an Altair 8800 kit. I have been writing software and building electronics every since. I am self taught and hardworking. Over my 40+ years of programming I have used many different languages. I continue to learn and expand and I recently earned a Nano degree in Android development on a Google Scholarship. I am still passionate about programming and hardware development, and it remains both my hobby and my work. I took a took a five year break from software development to care for a family member with Alzheimer. I missed my work and I am now re-entering the market and picking up new skill sets such as cloud computing and machine learning with a strong interest in computer vision systems.
When not at the keyboard or bench I play cowboy helping my son-in-law on the ranch. Time on the ranch gives me a time to disconnect from technology and enjoy nature. There's nothing like being horseback at sunrise.
Work Terms
My hours a semi-flexible. However, I prefer to work four 10 hours days Monday through Thursday. Fridays mornings I have a commitment with the Montana Programmer's Association. I am willing to travel for meetings and short-term remote positions (at the client's expense).
