I was a senior in KPMG’s Assurance (Audit) division, doing audit projects in relation to multinational Companies. I was handling works relating to Statutory audit under the Indian Companies Act, 1956, tax audits under Indian Income tax Act, 1961, and Group audits under various international laws. My assignments at this Firm, during the period of post-qualification experience of 30 months, have given me an opportunity to have an insight in operations, maintenance of books and records, compliance with relevant Statutes and various types of audits to be conducted at different occasions by the Industry. Exposure in the field of Statutory Audit, Internal Audit, Tax Audit and Physical Stock Audit in various Companies has given me ample scope in the field of auditing, accounting and taxation. The work includes auditing at various levels, finalisation of accounts and other miscellaneous matters. My work included conduct of Statutory Audit in accordance with KPMG KAM methodology viz. audit plan, external business as well as industry sector understanding, internal organization understanding, risk analysis, process analysis, preparation of audit programmes, documentation & review of systems and controls, analytical review, consolidation of financial statements.
