Flexible EFL Teacher, English Tutor, and Professional Translator, Subtitler, and Editor
I am a certified and experienced EFL teacher from New York City. I have a lot of experience at all levels and with different age groups and really enjoy sharing knowledge with all kinds of people. I also learn from the people I interact with, talking about a range of subjects from sports, chess, movies, parks, traveling, to culture, cuisine, museums and music.
I was trained as a teacher with Anglo American Group, took a teacher development course with The Anglo Mexican Foundation, then presented and achieved a band 4 on all the Teaching Knowledge Tests (TKTs) with Cambridge ESOL, and finally took a competencies course for teaching staff at UPAEP university. I have worked in strictly bilingual schools and language schools affiliated with the Cambridge ESOL system so that students could be certified in English.
I use an eclectic approach which means a combination of a variety of approaches such as task-based teaching, inquiry-based learning, the communicative approach and CBI. Everything is done in balance including listening and reading,, using real video clips from talk shows, ted talks, movies, street interviews, etc., always with a focus on the production skills of writing and speaking.
In addition to teaching English of course I complete revision and editing tasks, translation services, subtitling projects, as well as AI language training.
