An accomplished InDesign designer who loves designing. I may not be flashy, but I consider myself a workhorse that listens to my clients' needs and understands what they are looking for.
You are looking for a professional that can handle all phases of the design and production aspects for the project you need to finish. Most of my career has been spent in catalog design and production. Catalog, brochure, and book design, layout and production is my passion. I sit somewhere in the line between creative and production. With professional experience in many areas of creative print design – from conceptual layout to photo art direction to production design, my skills as an Art Director – Print Designer stem from many years of focused energy and experience.
With proven success designing and producing B2B and B2C catalogs, brochures and books, I have also developed an expert knowledge of content management systems. Luckily for me I developed photo art direction skills with tabletop, furniture, and lifestyle model shoots while working in the office products industry. My participation in merchandising brainstorming sessions, has allowed me to become very familiar and understand those processes. I possess an energetic, focused, and forward thinking attitude that has allowed me to focus and improve on daily design, layout and production processes.
Some have called me a production design workhorse. Focused and resolute on massaging and completing catalog spreads until satisfied that the design is correct, proofed, and attention to detail is complete. Call me old fashioned, but I am accustomed to working until the job is complete and ready for the printer. I possess a combination of design strength and production proficiency. A self-starter and a team leader that actively helps and refines processes to achieve, maintain and surpass goals.
Work Terms
Once you hire me to work on your project we will sit down and discuss your project. We can communicate via phone, email or Skype / FaceTime. What the scope of the project is going to be, the amount of time you think is needed, and any other variables necessary for me to complete the work according to your specifications and requirements.
As far as how the actual work gets done I like to bring ideas to you before we get started. I will look over your project and if the project is straight forward and does not require substantial changes, then I would proceed and start working on the project. If however while overlooking the project I notice possible changes that could be made to make the project better looking or more customer friendly then I will make notes and recommendations for you to consider.
I find that looking over something before I start working is not only beneficial to you, but also to me. Maybe there is a font or image issue. Or any other issue that might allow me to save time by investigating a little further and seeing what type of solution I can come up with so that you don't waste your money and I don't waste my time.
Now there are three work areas.
The Pre-design stage where we can figure out what the fonts, colors, and general layout of the project is going to be. This is the time to try and get as many ideas sorted out and then we can select up to three designs you would like to proceed with to the design area.
The Design stage where we decide based on the previous three preliminary designs where you would like the project to go. This is when we finalize fonts, general layout and other elements of the project.
The Production stage. This is where all the work takes place. After the work is complete I will deliver the project to you.
Payment Terms:
I require payments for the work I complete to be paid every 2 weeks. Once the work is completed I will require the balance due to me before I send you the files.
