I am is a skilled and experienced IT professional specialising in the field of information security. I have a wide range of knowledge and experience covering graphic design, databases, systems, programming, server administration, architecture and security.

My early career focused on graphic design, web development, database administration, application server administration and software development support. I moved over to systems architecture, documenting and maintaining the as-is architecture of a retail service provider, providing IT services to multiple retailers in South Africa, including one of the biggest retailers in South Africa. Thereafter, I progressed into an IT risk and security role, fulfilling activities related to security awareness and training, drafting of information security policies, standards and best practices, security implementation coordination, audit coordination (internal & external), vulnerability assessment and risk treatment coordination, information security compliance management (PCI & POPI) and reporting into top management.
 
I continue to expand my knowledge and skills through continuous research and development within the academic field and corporate space. I have published several academic papers in the field of Information Technology, specialising in information security and I am still very active in the academic scene. My master’s dissertation recently got accepted and will pursue my PhD in information security.
