Experience and technical knowledge create a well-rounded tech
I started out in general AV working for Total Audio Visual Services (out of Atlanta) in their Columbia Maryland warehouse as a driver / tech. Working events up and down the east coast, I learned all the basics regarding projection, video, sound, and lighting. Didn't care for lighting. I focused primarily on video, learning to operate all of the cameras in use back then and video editing using Adobe Premiere, which was relatively new at the time. Over the years, I expanded my skill set and began focusing primarily on video; specifically corporate event video production. I've worked events of every type from all hands meetings to concerts to medical conferences all across the United States and Europe.
I live in Maryland with my wife. We have 6 kids who are almost all grown up now. I also have two dogs and two cats and love science fiction. I'm easy to get along with and unless it's a union gig where I have to "stay in my lane", I'm always willing to pitch in and get whatever needs to get done on showsite.
Work Terms
$650 day rate (10 hours); will do half day rates if necessary. Am flexible with rates. I bill all my hours through an LLC my wife owns to avoid any 1099 headaches. Already have workman's comp insurance as well as liability insurance for my gear. I have reliable transportation and know D.C. very well; I grew up just outside the Beltway.
