No matter the subject, an emotionally engaging story is what drives my work.
I'm a filmmaker and pug lover born and bred in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Someone once told me in high school that filmmaking wasn't a lucrative career. So I got an English degree from the University of St. Thomas instead. Reading great authors like Fyodor Dostoevsky, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and Flannery O'Connor enriched and influenced my desire to tell stories visually, and so midway through my college career, he decided to give it a try and bought his first video camera. From the moment I opened that camera box in 2011, I have tinkered with just about every role in the filmmaking process - from boom operator to director. His self-taught skills and experience have landed him gigs with organizations such as the National Football League, United Nations, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, SmartMusic, and Stack Magazine. I hope one day to be as good a director and storyteller as Stanley Kubrick, Robert Bresson, and Alfred Hitchcock. Recently, I received an MFA in Filmmaking (2016) from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
