This is the quick, nutshell version of my background and experience. What does it all mean? Shall we crack it open?

As a young adult I was captain of various sports teams. Communication and leadership have always been natural talents. In my experience, the most important aspect of communication is the ability to actively listen. Active listening is the core of being engaged in the process of communication; without it, the whole process breaks down. The childhood game of "telephone" is a great example of how simply the process of communication does not work without a clear message and an active listener. Effective communications are vital to any leadership role. As Director of Redeemer Early Childhood Education Center, I was responsible for developing teams to write policy, procedures, curriculum, newsletters, scripts and lyrics for musical performances, and individualized performance review documentation. Also, I developed and implemented a teacher friendly system that informs parents of their child's daily activities that serves double duty as an assessment tool.

I am very proud of the time I spent serving the children, parents, and teachers in the Irvington community of Baltimore City. As the pre-kindergarten teacher, I provided an environment that promoted exploration, discovery, high self-esteem, and fun. All of my students entered kindergarten reading and writing. It is a sad fact that early childhood education jobs pay very little and route sales jobs pay at least twice as much. I believe many of our socio-political issues can be linked to this unfortunate circumstance.

The method of communication that you prefer is what I will adopt. My goal is to be available when needed through whichever style of communication required for ease of accessibility.
