I produce results. I take action.
I started out as a music teacher in the public school system, but 'round about the third child I decided it was time to switch to a higher paying career, especially since my wife who was working as a physician's assistant decided it was time to stay at home with the kids. Can you say, "riches to rags"? Don't get me wrong, programming was my first love. Right after high school I completed a one year programming course in Portland, Oregon, but of course, without a degree I didn't get very far. So, long story short, I entered the US Air Force, got the G.I. Bill (money for school) and it's history from there.
I had a dream to be a song writer which led me to major in music, but of course three years later and about $20,000 poorer, I gave up on that. I had an old version of Visual Basic (VB 4.0) which revived my interest in programming and shortly after that I resumed my college education.
I'm still active in music and teach piano lessons on Fridays. If you want to check out some of my compositions, check out www.piecesofeightyeight.com
Work Terms
I am only free on Saturdays, so whatever work I am offered to do, will be extremely part time. The more flexible you want me to be, the more my rate will be (translation: I might bend the Saturday only rule if the money is right).
