Content Writer, Editor, and Anthropologist Working to Help You Build Brand Content That Tells a New Kind of Story
I am an anthropologist and creative writer who has researched and written about technology, climate change, and racism in the United States for the last five years. Though I am a relative newcomer to the world of online writing, I believe my skills as a creative writer, multi-media researcher, and college instructor of culture and writing translate in very interesting ways for this position. In the past four years, I have done research out in the field, trying to understand what it means to be a person of color in the software world, exploring the possibilities of worker-owned businesses, participating in the struggles of Latinx small businesses - all experiences that required much more than data retrieval or basic journalism. My ethnographic research meant being with people, getting to know their ways of living and how that affected the way they used technology and did business. These projects also required the ability to do the broad research on a topic, get to know the essentials and numbers. And, most importantly, the task of writing about it afterwards, for other scientists and concerned citizens to examine and experience.
As a fiction writer, I have an advanced understanding of the English language, how to use it to talk about real lives and experiences, how to paint a vivid and emotional landscape for the reader to connect to. I think this is what makes me a valuable asset to any digital marketing or online content writing project.
