Expert business and academic writing services with fast turnaround times.
Ryan holds a Ph.D. in biomedical science from the University of Central Florida. As a professional freelance writer (registered with the Professional Writers Association of Canada), Ryan works with students, post-doctoral fellows, researchers, and faculty at academic institutions to prepare peer-reviewed manuscripts, as well as travel, salary, operating, and equipment grants. Ryan also works with service providers (e.g., consulting firms) to prepare business development grants for multiple agencies and streams.
Prior to beginning his freelance career, Ryan was a consultant and technical writer for a boutique consulting firm. There, he worked with multiple clients to outline, draft, and submit business development grants. He also prepared due diligence and reconciliation documentation throughout the life of such grants. As a technical writer Ryan also prepared Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax claim narratives to assist clients in receiving investment tax credits.
During Ryan's 10 years of experience as an academic life sciences researcher, he composed technical reports for the United States Department of Justice and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). He wrote multiple successful funding applications for governmental and non-governmental agencies, including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), NSERC, Cystic Fibrosis Canada, and McMaster University. Those applications generated over $300,000 for research and operational expenses. Given his successes, Ryan also received multiple renewal and travel grants. Additionally, as an academic researcher, he gained extensive experience writing, editing, and publishing peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, and collaborated routinely with academic and industry partners.
