Hi, just call me Sahrul. I’m a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in English Language Teacher Education diploma holder. Grew up in the northern part of Indonesia, I never expected that I would go abroad to study and to work as an EFL teacher for four years in Turkey.
Being a teacher helped me a lot in developing a lot of skills for my life in and outside the classroom, such as active listening skills, flexibility, time management, ability to relate to other people, eagerness to learn, and empathy. These skills were sharpened by countless of hours spent with students, especially outside the classroom and time spent sharing with my coworkers about the job itself. I also organized some events to welcome guests from abroad – which required me to collaborate with school administrators, students, and teachers.
As a person whose job mostly require communicating with people, it triggers my interests in communication and psychology, especially how these two can improve human relationships and I’m glad that I got a glimpse of these two courses back in the university and learn more of them as I go on living day by day and encounter a lot of people both online and offline.
I like to challenge myself to try new things that may ignite the joy in me. I tried to dive into Digital Marketing and taught myself how to edit pictures, take videos, copywrite, and design simple posts for social media. I was also hired to work in a café and handled their social media posts and customers via DM.
I enjoy good books and microblogging, and I use my social media as a platform to share what I write. I also enjoy listening to people talking about their days, books, pop culture, and the latest news while sipping a cup of iced coffee in a café. So, if you’d like to learn more about what I can do for you, or if you just need some ears to listen to you while sipping a cup of coffee, feel free to reach out to me. Talk to you soon.
