editing & proofreading

I've been editing for more than 10 years. For the past 6 years, I have worked as the managing editor at the publishing house I co-own. I have experience with content editing, copy editing, and proofreading. I've worked with multiple authors and am adaptive to an author's individual voice & style, as well as individual style guides.

I have experience with and access to MS Word (Mac & PC), Pages (Mac), Open Office, and Libre Office, and can use the Track Changes feature. I am also familiar with proofreading from a PDF.

My primary experience is in romance, particularly LGBTQIA romance, and I am familiar with the following sub-genres: fantasy, urban fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, supernatural, and paranormal. However, I also have experience editing for graphic novels and web comics.

Work Terms

I work from home full time, but I set aside hours during the day and in the evenings to work on freelance projects. I am available to respond to messages between 8am - 10pm every day of the week.

Quotes for developmental editing are based on a rate of $.01/word; for copy/line editing $.0075/word; and for proofreading $.005/word. Prices are negotiable, depending on your budget, however I do reserve the right to decline a job if I feel what you're offering is too little for the requirements.

Preferred communication is email. I check it regularly throughout the day, every day.
