A passion for billing!
Currently, I am managing my 4-client billing company. Duties include converting diagnosis codes from ICD-9 to ICD-10, marketing, client invoicing, employee training, verifying patient insurance, billing claims, posting of payments and adjustments, patient statements, reporting, collections and court proceedings, following up on outstanding insurance and patient balances, software maintenance, provider credentialing, Privacy Policy development and website creation. I am also the HIPAA Compliance Officer and a member of the Michigan Medical Billers Association and the American Medical Billing Association.
In the course of my billing career, I have performed various duties such as training new employees, HCPCS research, fee investigation for similar providers, as well as development of procedure manuals and business form creation.
