Hi, my name is Sara. I am a Visual Communications major, seeking freelance work to put my skills to use and improve them throughout the process.
While in high school, I took two college-level courses through a "cross-enrolled" program at a nearby community college:
1. Visual Communications (multi-media design and marketing)
& 2. ProStart (culinary arts and restaurant management)
As I was taking these courses, I always found a way to integrate what I learned from them into other classes. Photoshop, Illustrator, and even Power Director were always close-at-hand whenever I started a class project. So I Illustrated/Photoshopped my artwork, instead of using markers or crayons. With my creativity, eloquence in writing, and skill in professional-grade software, I strived to turn in the best work my teachers had ever seen - and succeeded.
Now, I strive to create the best work possible for my clients - whether that means meeting every last one of their expectations, or going even further.
Work Terms
My hours are flexible - I can dedicate my weekdays from 9AM to 7PM to work - but I am unavailable on weekends where I live. I prefer jobs/tasks where I am given a deadline, rather than an appointed time-frame to work within (for ex: collaborating with a client live from 8AM to 4PM).
When I am available, I'm at college.
I am a full-time college student, but not the kind that needs extra time outside the classroom to get work done. So, in between my classes (which are only an hour long, except for one three-hour class), I hang out in the library - specifically, in the computer lab - where I play around in Photoshop and Illustrator to pass the time.
The computers in the lab are equipped with Adobe Cs4 programs: Dreamworks, Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and others. So, I am well-equipped for any graphics task I take on.
