I am not just another buzzword
It all started with a loan, my first loan as an adult, a $1500 loan to buy my first computer when I was 18. When I started in the grown up world of real work, it all came together. I was determined to know the inner workings of new programs, especially Microsoft Access. It wasn't long and I began to dream of a database relationship of my own. Some time later, I decided to use my brain for good and started at Indiana-Purdue University of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Switching majors a few times, I settled on something, yes I can't recall the topic! Luckily I came upon a unique exchange program of sorts that allowed for students to attend participating US based Universities for the same cost as their own (no out of state fees). Oh, the wanderlust bug, here I come! I moved to Missoula, Montana where I landed a job with the Data Coordinator at the School of Business working on, what else, Databases. Here, I learned some beginning programming and became a database guru! She slyly convinced me I was meant for programming and that I should drink the technology cool-aid.
I did and I still am. Naturally, I stayed in Montana and began to work at the Montana Food Bank Network where I eventually became the "go to" technology person and website manager although my title was not even close to either! In 2009, I graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Information Systems and a minor in Media Arts.
Moving to Denver, I found a place with a website template company, Portfoliositez, that gave me a chance to use my design and programming skills. I enjoyed troubleshooting and debugging their templates and eventually they set me out on my own to develop new features and work on new projects.
I am excited to have the opportunity to work on your project in my pajamas, sipping a latte.
