I taught myself how to code with Basic on an Atari. I died countless times of dysentery on Oregon Trail. I snuck into chat rooms, first on Netscape Navigator and then on AOL (can you hear the screech of dial-up?) every time my parents turned their backs. My first website looked like something a kid made with markers and construction paper (they all did, back then). You better believe when ICQ, Instant Messenger, and Open Diary came along I was front and center for each. As for MySpace and Facebook? Let's just say as soon as Tom created his profile, I was next.
