I graduated from Ivy Tech Community College in 2012 with an Associate of Science degree in Health Information Technology. I was credentialed as an RHIT shortly after graduating and then made the move from Indiana to North Carolina to live with my husband who was enlisted in the US Army. I began working at a large hospital in the basement as an Health Information Management Technician, my duties included and were basically limited to scanning medical records into the medical record database. (This was the only position open in the HIM department at the time.) Within a year I had moved up the ladder to a position where I was analyzing outpatient medical records and assigning codes to them. Within 6 months from then I had reached my goal and climbed to the top of the ladder, I was hired for a position as a Clinical Coding Specialist. I was the first Coder hired without having past coding experience. This was possible because of the great reputation I had built with my supervisors as an honest, hard worker.

Once my husband was out of the Army we decided to take a huge plunge. I left my job as a Coder, we sold everything we owned, bought a Fishing Magazine Franchise, packed up our bags and our dogs and moved to Costa Rica. We have been here for a year publishing our fishing magazine. I do Graphic Design work for the magazine and really enjoy it. I have not had schooling for this but I have learned quit a bit about graphic design in the past year of creating ads for the magazine.

I am a very reasonable, easy going person, who's main goal in life is to spread happiness and good vibes to others. Therefore I strive to give my employers complete satisfaction with the work that I do. If you hire me for a job you will not be disappointed.
