I aim to bring your designs to life!
Scott Lester Drafting & Design is a new venture for me. I am very passionate about drafting & design and wanted to try doing aside from my full time job. I am a 2008 honor graduate of Surry Community College with a degree in Mechanical Drafting Technology. I have always been facinated by how things go together, how things can be improved, etc...
Shortly after graduating college, I began my career working in the Architectural Stone industry. I utilized AutoCad for 5 years producing shop drawings and fabrication tickets. My jobs include the Allentown Art Museum, work for Duke, UNC, Cyclotron, and various monuments and buildings around the country. In 2012, due to a slow economy, I was let go by the company I worked for and within 1 1/2 months, I totally changed my genre in my career over to mechanical design.
I went from 2D drafting to 3D modeling using a variety of Solid Works & Solid Edge. I have a stong work ethic in design intent and high quality models and drawings. I am well versed in design and drawing standards, and adhere to them in my work.
In 2011, I began teaching at the college I graduated from as the Engineering Design Instructor. I teach four classes currently and LOVE doing it. That passion for design & drafting shows there as well because I just want to pass on what I have
learned to future drafters or designers.
I hope this new venture brings many more years of enjoyment in this industry and I look forward to providing you with the very best drafting & design service money can buy!
