Passionate, skilled programmer with a broad range of experiences and an emphasis on quality code
Hello! My name is Séamus Delaney, a programmer currently living in Galway city.
I started programming when I was 12 years old, after my father bought a book for me about the C programming language and ever since then I’ve been driven by my fascination with computers to constantly improve the quality of my software and programming by working on a broad spectrum of personal projects, all the while keeping up to date with the latest practices and technology through seminars and literature.
Though mostly self-taught, I had the opportunity while studying Mathematical Science at the National University of Ireland, Galway, to take a number of programming courses, allowing me to further my knowledge in a more formal setting.
During my third year of education, I was asked to teach a programming lab to undergraduate students for a semester which focused on designing and implementing algorithms in Python. The following Summer, I was offered an internship with the university to do some mathematical research with a heavy programming component using MATLAB.
I’m experienced with a broad variety of programming languages including C, C++, C#, Python, Ruby and MATLAB, assembly languages like 6502, 65816, ARM and x86, as well as common web development and scripting languages such as HTML, Javascript, CSS, etc.
I have interest and experience in a broad range of software engineering areas, including User Interface design and implementation, high performance 2D and 3D Graphics, Databases, Tools, and reverse engineering.
