I took my first steps as a writer when I wrote my first short story in middle school. Writing and languages have been my passion ever since. Brought up in a bilingual environment, I juggled between my native language (Turkmen) and my second language (Russian) within my family and mixed community. However, I didn't realize the extent to which I love learning and expressing myself until I started learning English at the age of 12. Even if it is not my native language, it certainly feels like one. With that in mind, I have been teaching English for 3 years now and for most of that time I have been a test-prep expert within my own language school. I am drawn to test-prep because of one word: WRITING! Teaching test-prep gives me an opportunity to combine my passion of writing and my passion of teaching because a considerable part of test-prep is teaching essay writing. I am used to editing, proofreading and helping students with their writing skills and these two years in that area made me a sharper writer and editor in general. My attention to detail is precise and I am able to distinguish between formal and informal styles, academic writing, essay writing, etc. Unlike other writing freelancers, I also offer support to ESL teachers and test-prep tutors like myself and provide them with engaging classroom content. I engage in teacher training and seminars and write short articles detailing my tried and tested classroom activities for my ESL colleagues. I am looking for engaging projects that would expand my horizons both as a writer and an educator.

Work Terms

I am free for about 20 hrs/week and prefer to communicate through email and/or WhatsApp.
