Hello Fellow Educators! I’m Selena Haggins, Founder & CEO of Consult Selena. I’m also a former teacher, reading interventionist, academic director, and elementary school principal. After a successful career of over a decade of experience as an educator and learning experience design, I have shifted my focus from being in the classroom to equipping and empowering those who lead classrooms. I am bringing this deep expertise to bridge the gap between in-person and virtual design.
As CEO of Consult Selena, I bring deep expertise and best practices--including knowledge, benchmarks and systems-- to support educators. I develop engaging e-learning programs, courses, and training that make a difference in how learners are captivated by what they are learning. I know the nuts and bolts of assembling complex content into engaging learning material, and I’m passionate about developing training solutions for any industry. My goal is to create an online learning experience that uses design thinking and participant voices to draw participants in, practicing new skills and reengaging with familiar content in ways that they can easily apply and show their skills.
Like most people, my experience shapes my perspective. As a former Division I: Track and Field athlete, I am committed to practice and excellence. I’m a dedicated, passionate, problem-solver who is captivated by potential roadblocks. I believe in the value of a team, where we are all working together to meet a shared goal. And my career as an educator has taught me that adaptability is a critical skill. You can count on me to process, reflect, re-plan, and take action. I take time to listen and sketch out the big picture to your problems and hone in on solutions. My strategy is to go big, then narrow my focus, and break down challenges into bite-size, achievable goals. I’m part storyteller, part strategist.
